Giants Don Mueller snags a hard hit liner by Carl Furillo at the top of the right-field wall for the first out of the 6th inning. Gil Hodges, who single to open the inning, would tag up and advance to second. Hodges then would come home come to score the first of three runs that inning on a Roy Campanella base hit. But the Giants would rally from a 4-2 deficit to win 5-4 on a Monte Irvin 3-run home run off Ralph Branca in the 8th inning. Scenario sound familiar? It should as the last game of the regular season Branca would give up a 3-run home run, this time to Bobby Thomson, to lose the game by the same 5-4 score and the NL Pennant as well.

Do take note on how the bullpen is located in fair territory, only at the Polo Grounds.
