Hall of Fame Classic
The new season is in full swing, and the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is gearing up for its unofficial start of the summer season.
Tickets for the 2018 Hall of Fame Classic, scheduled for Memorial Day Weekend, will be on sale starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 26, at the Doubleday Field parking lot.
Hall of Fame members Rollie Fingers, Goose Gossage, Eddie Murray, Gaylord Perry, Tim Raines and Ozzie Smith will be joined by recently retired players representing all 30 major league teams for a seven-inning legends game on Saturday, May 26 at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field.
The 2018 Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company, highlights a weekend of family entertainment programs designed to celebrate the timeless connection of baseball across generations.
Tickets for the Hall of Fame Classic are $12.50 for first and third base seats and $11 for general admission outfield seats.
The Classic, now in its 10th year and fueled by assistance from MLB, features a pre-game Home Run Contest at noon, followed by the first pitch at 1:05 p.m.

Kids Run the Bases
To the topHall of Fame Classic Weekend features additional family events designed to promote interactivity between fans and their baseball heroes. Following the game on Saturday will be Kids Run the Bases, a chance for children to round third and head for home on the base paths of historic Doubleday Field. Space in Kids Run the Bases, which is a free event, is limited.
Night at the Museum
To the topThe Hall of Fame will reprise its Night at the Museum program, now in its sixth season. Hall of Fame legends and former players will greet fans throughout the Museum on Saturday evening beginning at 6 p.m. Legends participants will canvass the Museum during the course of a two-hour event that will bring the Museum to life with special programs and interactions. While the Night at the Museum program is not an autograph session, fans should remember to bring their camera to capture their special memories. SOLD OUT.
Cooperstown Classic Clinic
To the topThe Museum will also offer the Cooperstown Classic Clinic, a baseball training event for youngsters ages 7-12 on Friday, May 25 from 4-6:30 p.m. The Clinic gives youth participants a chance to receive hands-on tips and advice from several former major leaguers at Doubleday Field in Cooperstown. The event is free but pre-order is required for this special opportunity by calling 607-547-0397.
BASE Race
To the topThe Hall of Fame’s newest hit is embarking on an extended “run” in Cooperstown, the popular BASE Race is being held on Memorial Day Weekend, with the same course and lineup, as part of Hall of Fame Classic Weekend festivities.
The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, along with Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center, will present the seventh annual BASE Race charity runs – a 5k fun run and competitive 10k events -- on Saturday, May 26 – starting and ending at historic Doubleday Field and featuring courses that wind through scenic Cooperstown and along the warning track of the historic ballpark. The race events benefit the Museum’s “Be A Superior Example” program promoting healthy lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages.
Fans are encouraged to support their favorite major league team as part of the 2018 BASE Race, as selected former major league players will be a part of the race activities, as the lead-off event to a full day of programming for the Hall of Fame Classic on May 26.
Registration for the 2018 BASE Race is $25 and $55 for families. Each registered runner will receive a finishers medal (for the first 300 runners to register), goodie bag, and a free general admission ticket to the Hall of Fame Classic. Proceeds from the BASE Race support outreach for BASE, the Hall of Fame’s educational initiative which promotes the concepts of healthy lifestyle choices to a worldwide audience, educating students about the dangers of performance-enhancing substances.
