The Sheer Thrill of Victory!

Dizzy with Frankie Frisch celebrating the Cardinals 1934 World Series win

Another Edition of: “The Sheer Thrill of World Series Victory”

I mentioned awhile back that I enjoy seeing pictures of the “Thrill of Victory” from World Series games. There just doesn’t seem to be anything else like a World Series championship capable of bringing out such uninhibited emotions, such complete and utter joy!

Today’s edition is from the 1934 World Series. The St. Louis Cardinals’ infamous “Gas House Gang” beat the Detroit Tigers four-games-to-three.

Yes…that’s the crazy Dizzy Dean hugging manager Frankie Frisch — with a lampshade on his head!…or is that a safari hat?? With Dizzy, you never knew what he might do next!

What else besides a World Series victory can bring out such pure, uninhibited child-like emotions? Maybe that’s why we love this game so much!

If you have any favorite “Sheer Thrill of Victory” photos from past World Series, feel free to post them in the comments section.
