Its Game Two of the 1916 World Series and the Dodgers Hi Myers connects on a deep shot to the center and right field gap for an inside-the-park home run off Red Sox pitcher Babe Ruth. The first inning homer gave Brooklyn an early 1-0 lead but that would be only run they would score on the day. The Red Sox would tie it up in the third inning on a RBI ground out by Ruth scoring Everett Scott, from there Babe would hold shut down the Dodgers bats the rest of the game. In the bottom of the 14th inning pinch hitter Del Gainer single would drive in pinch-runner Mike McNally, in for Dick Hoblitzell who walked, from second base for the winning run. The win gave Boston a 2-0 series lead and eventually they would win their second consecutive World Series title in five games.
