As Bill Gutman and I continue to explore ways of adding fun and interaction to our web page, we’re happy to announce the first Baseball History Comes Alive Trivia Contest and Grand Prize Giveaway.

Our hope is that this will become an ongoing event, as each month we’ll test your knowledge of baseball history. Each contest will cover a specific topic of baseball history.

This month’s focus: the Hall of Fame

You can take the quiz just “for the fun of it.” Or you can take it to qualify for our monthly Grand Prize Giveaway: a $50 Amazon Gift Card.

Read the contest rules before clicking on the link below that will take you to the monthly quiz. If you’d like to be eligible for the Grand Prize Giveaway, either send me an email saying: “I took the quiz, my score is___” (Livac2@aol.com); or alternatively, just leave your name in the comments section below and write: “I took the quiz, my score is___.”

Either way, you will automatically be entered into the random drawing to determine the monthly Grand Prize Giveaway contest winnerAlso, look for a confirmation from me within 24 hours to be sure I didn’t overlook it.

Here are the contest rules:

  1. The contest will start on the first day of the month and will remain open until the 25th.(The January contest is starting on December 31). The contest winner will be announced after the 25th of the month. 
  2. The contest is open to all baseball history fans. Please share with friends or relatives.
  3. After you complete the quiz, send me an email (Livac2@aol.com) saying: “I took the quiz,” and your score; or alternatively, just leave your name in the comments section below with your score.  
  4. I’ll hold a random drawing from the entries to determine the monthly winner. 
  5. A $50 Amazon Gift Card Grand Prize Giveaway will be awarded to the winner. 
  6. The winner can continue to play in each monthly contest, but will not be eligible to win the prize again for six months.
