While its history is heavy in football, it does have a baseball background being home to the Triple A Buffalo Bison (1961-70, 1979-88). But its most famous baseball connection was in 1984 when it was used in the Robert Redford movie “The Natural” as the home field to the fictional New York Knights.

The upkeep on the stadium was always poor, journalist Brock Yates once remarked “looks as if whatever war it was a memorial to had been foughtwithin its confines.”

In 1988 the deteriorating stadium was torn down and in it’s place today is a high school athletic field
